Much cheaper for me to own the boat.I came up with a cost of $60 per day after all costs and defrayment by buddies. My wife dives about 40-50 days a year which only adds $10 in air cost but loses me defrayment costs. For the average diver it is somewhat the opposite. The price comes with the ability to dictate schedule and location.Try some simple math 1st to see if it's desirable.Days average diving per year x charter costs and travel costs, rentals etc.Compare to boat payments-expected equity at end of loan term, air costs ,rentals if needed ,Insurances(boat, tow vehicle extra coverage)storage costs or dockage, consumables(gas ,oil, cleaners, tires, ropes, etc.)repairs costs and any expected defrayment by buddies(be realistic)divide by the # times you really plan on diving.Good luck.....
