i have mares first and second stage I haven't been diving in a year and first dive I notice small bubbles coming out of both second stage.........i took the second stage to tech guy bur not first stage . do you think the bubbles coming from second or first stage.. I'm out of country and have already bought new first stage upon my return but curious why its happening. i haven't had first stage serviced for a long time. but was hoping it was second stage causing issue..........on my second dive the bubbles were less than first dive . I'm just hoping the problem was because the second stages are just stiff from non use and will slowly get better on subsequent dives

It could be either:
- 1st stage intermediate pressure is higher than spec (maybe from an IP creep), overcoming the seat in 2nds stage and thus free flowing
Or
- LP seat on 2nd stages is worn out, and is now very easy to overcome by IP, thus freeflowing (this is the more likely scenario)
-Or both

It will not get better with time (I doubt); when were the stages last serviced?

i am servicing the second stages right now. i was hoping after I service them the bubbles will go away. honestly the first stage hasn't been serviced for years so I suppose I need to get the first stage in to shop as well

It could be either or both. You should always get them serviced together, surprised your tech guy didn’t say this. Take your first stage in while the seconds are still there.

You said you bought a new first, was it because of this? What you have may be fine after service.
