hi i suffered a spontaneous pneumothorax about 10 years ago. i had corrective surgeory and haven't had a problem since. is it at all possible for me to dive? al of the articles i've read suggest that it isn't possible. i went to see a doctor and he said he didn't see a problem though i don't he was very knowledgeable on the subject. anyone out there have a similar experience? any advice? thanks.

Call DAN or check out their web site. www.diversalertnetwork.com
Also, find a doc in your area that specializes in undersea-hyberbaric. My brother has asthma and we had to find him a specialist to get sign off to dive. Most doctors dont have the specialty knowledge required to make those calls.
You can also have your doctor call DAN and talk to them about your situation and condintion.
Hope it works out for you.
