Fellows: I have never picked up a Hog wing and examined it physically but the reviews and the pictures make it seem like it is a very solid product. I was told that this is made in the same company that makes the same wing for other more expensive brands and that it is the same wing as Xdeep. The only difference (I was told) was the inflator hose which Hog installs a different one. Can anyone shed light into this? Is Hog wing being rebranded and sold by other companies too?

Cheers -

It would not at all surprise me as many SCUBA related items can be found in an identical or near identical item made at the same manfuacturing facility.

Its not specific to Scuba. I was recently banging my head against the wall trying to decide which (Very expensive) digitally stabilized Binoculars to buy to keep on the boat for safety. I narrowed it down to two and went back and forth for months..........until I discovered that they were the same damn thing....made by one of the two vendors selling them. It made the purchase a lot easier as then I only needed to find the best price since products were equal.

I have some hog wings, but have never tried an xdeep. The hog wings came with an inflator that inflates considerably slower than any other type of inflator I have ever used. Other than that(which is not really a bad thing) a wing is a wing is a wing.

the ones that have the made in USA tags on them are made in New York by the same supplier for Dive Rite, they have since switched to an offshore supplier and they may very well be coming from the same factory. Wouldn't surprise me if ODS was making them
