Hi there all you knowledgable people. I have what I hope is a simple question. I am keeping an eye out for double tank wings for my Diverite transpac harness. I currently have a rec wing and it suits me fine, but I would like to plan for the future and catch a double at a good price. Does anyone know what is compatible with the diverite harness? Also, I am open to opinions on quality of other wings compared to diverite? One more item; I use steel 85's, I weigh about 170, what do think is a good lift rate for two 85's?

Thanks in advance for your input!

my diverite wing fits on my OMS BP. are you going to use the single cyclinder adaptor or are you going to use the cam-bands to hold the wing on?
if you use the bolts or S>C>A. they should fit.
thats how i got my OMS and Diverite to work.

I dive with LP 85's and sometimes with two Al 80 for deco bottles and I use a wing with 55lbs of lift. IMO That all you ever need.

Cheers

Jack,

It looks like you already have what you need to dive double 85's

From diverites website

Model Number: BC2074
The Rec Wing is a single bladder air cell, which can be used with both single and double cylinders. The Rec Wing can accommodate up to two 104-cubic-foot/16 liter back-mounted cylinders. The Rec wing includes a gusset-control cord, which enables users to better control the shape and lift characteristics of the air cell, and helps prevent the Rec Wing from wrapping around the sides of tanks, when the air cell is used with single cylinders. Rec Wings are a good choice for divers who may primarily use doubles, and want to be able to configure their air cell for use with single cylinders as well.

From a rated lift capacity perspective, I agree. I currently dive double E8 119's with a 40# wing, and it's plenty of lift (and I'm a hefty fellow at 245 lbs).

When I owned my Rec wing, I didn't try using it with doubles, so what remains to be answered is whether (or now much of) the wing gets trapped behind the cylinders when you remove the bungee cord. That will determine your effective lift with that configuration ...

Thanks to everyone for their input. Shortly after I posed the question I came upon a site that mentioned the use of the rec wing for doubles. Guess I have what I need to get started. My dive instructor must have been thinking ahead for me.
