So maybe an interesting question.. I want to dive at Cocos July/ Aug time frame this year. Wandering if its possible without doing a 7 or 8 day live aboard and spending 5k+ on the trip. Are there any companies that do a 2-3 day trip out of Costa Rica that I could use?

the boat ride is over 24 hours each way, so unless you want to charter a boat yourself, the answer is no

As others have stated: No. The boat needs 30-36 hours each way. I guess you could charter a Seaplane or a big (ex-military) helicopter that has the range to go the 500km (or was it nautical miles?) back and forth. But that would be even more expensive.
