Is Ari Atoll better in diving than N/S Male Atoll?

From my experience Ari Atoll was definately better diving overall compared to the Male atolls. That's where we saw hammerheads, mantas and whale sharks. I think the best dive I did on either Male atoll was about 100m off the airport runway - A cargo ship Maldive Victory which sank in 1981. There are a couple of lines run along the deck of the ship, and you can peer into the still full cargo holes.
