A new physics prof around here has gotten the physics club (all 4 of us) interested in building a cupola furnace so we can host our own iron pours. We have everything in order but a design for the furnace so it looks like before the end of the school year we could very well be pouring our own iron.

Our prof apparently worked pours allot at someplace called Sloss in Alabama, and really, who isn't up for playing with lava?

Anyone else ever participate in iron pours? Had any fun?
