Investigation into death of diver
North Wales Police have named the diver who died after getting into difficulties at a pool where three men drowned late last year.

Well that was the headline that caught my eye in BBC on-line. 4 people dieing in a pool in one year sounds like a pretty dangerous pool - well I guess it is when that pool turns out to be Dorothea......

The full story can be found at:

I thought diving had been stopped there after the 3 deaths in December? Perhaps one of the Brits in the UK could fill in the gaps?

That is sad.

Almost as sad is this quote from the story, "Sometimes regulations are necessary to protect people from endangering their own lives in such a terrible fashion."

*strictly speaking*, diving was never permitted there.

So people keep diving just like they did before ...

I dont have much references in-hand, but the issue has been beaten to death on the uk.rec.scuba newsgroup, and some comments can be found on the forums at divernet

the whole issue is, unfortunately, a lot moe complicated than just a few regulations.
