Cuba resisted as much as possible but could not stand against such a fierce enemy. Invasion has started and it doesnt seem anything can stop it.

next are some pictures of the invaders.

I dove Cayo Coco area in Oct 2009 and I saw a fair number...much more than Cozumel this past December
 
Lionfish are pretty. If that lionfish wasn't there.... then the photo would be just boring rock....

Not necessarily...there would probably be OTHER fish there in the picture. As it is, it's only the lionfish, and that's the reason for serious concern.


And the stuff in the background of those pictures isn't "boring rock"...it's a thriving community of at least a couple dozen species of coral, sponges, and other critters. Just sayin'...
