Hi Everyone,

I'm in my last couple days of my PADI Open Water Cert here on Aruba, and this weekend I will head out to Bonaire for a couple weeks. I'm looking to connect with other divers and dive buddies for trips. I am a new diver with good swimming and some snorkeling skills (and an adventurous spirit!).

I hope this is the right place to ask. I'm looking for some more experienced folks to dive with, learn from, and grow into the sport. Please contact me if you're open to a new diver joining you!

Lots of questions in this brain of mine... Where is all the action going to be for the Invade Bonaire 2013 trip? A couple of questions- renting gear (don't own my own gear), good hotels to stay at (less pricey preferred, I'm on a budget!), and so on...

Thanks!

The host hotel for the Invasion is the Plaza Resort. Invade Bonaire, 2013 It starts June 22nd. The Plaza is kind of south of town so you might look for something nearby - maybe Carib Inn. There's also a couple of less expensive properties off the water in town - that'd be a long walk/short cab ride to the Plaza.

IDK any of them personally but they're all listed at infobonaire.com by price range. http://www.infobonaire.com/hotels.html - anything in area 4 would be a reasonably short distance away. With a car, the Dive Hut or Coco Palm Gardens are reasonable options. Anything waterfront is obviously more expensive. One thing that will hurt you in some places is the single supplement - assuming you are one.

Personally I wouldn't want to dive at the Plaza when the Invasion is there, they have 4 boats and I think we've pretty well filled them. Although the invasion price only includes boat dives, I'm sure many people are renting vehicles to shore dive - there's a special optional deal for that also. Most are 4 dr small trucks so they might have room for you.

For other buddies try posting on bonairetalk.com also.
