This is my first post on this scuba board. I love the sport and look forward to diving as long as I can.
My first dive was at Akumal after doing the resort course and, naturally, the first thing I saw was a turtle. I then got certified on Keuka Lake thru Mike Morehouse who is associated with Finger Lakes Scuba, an SSI facility. I cannot say enough good things about him and his teaching ability. The first thing I saw on my first dive in Keuka Lake was also a turtle. I don't like the thermocline so I am a salt water diver.
Finally this year a small group of Keuka Lake divers will be going to Playa del Carmen first week of March. We love it there and it is nicely located for diving there and at Cozumel and Akumal. We will get group rates and command the dive boat so we can dive where we want to. Last year we dove at Playa with a dive shop that liked to end the dive with 1000 psi left. No more of that!
Later on I will post some thoughts on diving at San Andres. Just to tease everyone, my first time there I had 15 dives and met a Canadian with over 500 dives. He said he had over 100 dives on San Andres and had just scratched the surface of diving there. Big smile on his face too.
Thanks for the warm welcome.
