Introducing our new Instructor to Instructor Forum...

It's the forum you just can't see! That's right, www.Scubaboard.com has a new private forum that is JUST for Scuba Instructors and other dive professionals. It's not that we want to hide from the world, but we do want to have discussions that we might not want our students to read!

It is NOT a place for agency bashing.
It is NOT a place for flaming fellow instructors.
It is NOT a place to feed your ego.

This IS a place for speaking your mind
*about what you are doing right
*about problems you may encounter in your classes
*about advice (both getting and giving)
*about diving issues affecting board members
*about industry issues affecting us as dive professionals

If you are interested, we want to hear from you! Here are the "Instructor to Instructor" access requirements:

1) You must be a Scuba Instructor, Assistant Instructor, Divemaster or equivalent with a recognized agency.
2) In order to validate your credentials you will need to submit your application through Group Preferences.

Lastly, be patient! We process a large number of applicants (over 1000 members and counting) and we only have a finite number of fingers to type in the info! We will also take the time to validate your status with your agency. You will be notified of your acceptance via PM and you will see a new forum magically appear near the bottom of the forum list.

Come in with an open mind, and leave with a wealth of new ideas!

There seems to be come confusion on how to join this group. Here is the complete step by step process for your convenience!

Please go to Group Memberships which can be gotten by clicking that link or simply going to your User CP and selecting the link on the left column. Once there, you will find a number of publicly joinable groups including the following

Dive Master Candidate
Dive Master
Instructor, Scuba

Select the appropriate group and don't forget to click the "Join Group" button at the bottom of the list! No click means no join! After that one of our Group Leaders, Alcina, Rick Murchison or 300Bar will process your application and they may have some additional questions for you.

After you have been approved, you have the option of identifying yourself as one of these groups, or any other that you belong to. Again, simply go to Group Memberships and at the very bottom of the page you will see a list that says: You may choose to be identified as a member of the following groups... Select the one (only one) you wish to be identified as. If you are a Supporting Member, you can specify a custom Name Tag of your very own!
