Hi All, I've recently purchased a GoPro and took it for a few dives. It's my first camera and I'm generally impressed by the quality of the footage vs the price that I've paid for the camera / blur fix etc.

However, I was hoping to add a low to mid priced light to enhance the colour of my footage. The intova Supernova seemed to be in my price range of ~$300 or so. Anyone has any experience with the Supernova as a video light?

I have the GoPro mounted on a camera tray with flexarm at the moment. Would something like the Supernova be too heavy to be mounted on a flexarm? I don't really want to be carrying a massive camera setup into the water yet :)

Thanks in advance for any advice.

Hey Mulla, I have tried the SuperNova as a video light. Here's the deal: It is too bright on high setting and the beam is way too narrow for the wide angle lens of the GoPro. I am still trying to figure out a settup that I can afford. I think for now, two of the minis would work the best!!

WetBoy101 - So you're getting a hot spot with the Supernova? Maybe we can do some sort of DIY diffuser to help?

diversteve - Thanks for the additional recommendation. I've looked at the Sola series before as well but was having difficulty in finding it on the major international channels, leisurepro, ebay, etc...

The I-Torch Video Pro 3 looks interesting, anyone has any experience with one?

Bit of an update, ended up ordering a single Meganova for the little bit wider beam and better brightness than than the Supernova. The removable battery and the price is what swayed me towards the Meganova.

Will most likely get a second Meganova later on when I can afford it. But 1 light is a start :)
