Hi Divers, Dive Operator and Instructor,

Which Dive Insurance are you consider to buy?

1) DAN
2) PADI
3) NAUI
4) .......?

Why you buy.....?

i've beena DAN member for a while, never needed it (knock wood)

I'm using DAN

DAN they use the money to do studies and track dive accidents, research. when i had to take a ride i was glad they were there to tell me the closest chamber to go to, give the doctors the info, and made sure the hospital knew i was coming in.

I've had DAN insurance since certified but will be dropping it in favor of a company that doesn't limit where I can go and be covered.
When I signed on originally they "DAN" boasted "world-wide coverage".
Now they are systematically eliminating availability of chamber usage.
Limiting my safety if I choose to travel to these VERY popular locations.

not good

where does DAN no longer cover you?

I have DAN premium coverage and would like to stick with them but am looking at other options as chambers have been dropping them. I'm not agreeing with the chambers but I would like to know I'm covered wherever I go. I'm not happy about paying for worldwide coverage and finding out places I frequent are dropping my carrier.

again, which chambers are dropping them, and where?

here's DAN's January 31, 2006 satement on this issue:

"If a DAN member were to be referred to one of the three (3) facilities that have stated they do not support DAN and will not accept insurance purchased with DAN membership (the SSS chambers in Nassau, Cabo San Lucas or Cancun), DAN will nevertheless work to assure that the DAN members are covered.

"Although DAN maintains that the charges at these three facilities are in excess of reasonable and customary charges, divers should not be caught in the middle of this dispute.

"To ensure that the divers are not caught in the middle, effective immediately, DAN's insurer will coordinate with the SSS chambers in Nassau, Cabo San Lucas or Cancun to cover all treatment charges.

personally, this doesn't make me want to drop DAN. it makes me avoid
Nassau, Cabo San Lucas, and Cancun, since they're playing games with
my life.

DAN reliable and more facilities in worldwide.
How you evaluate DAN and other insurance?
