Inserting pictures into posts

I have a few pictures that I would like to insert into my posts and I'm wondering if there is an Idiots guide on how to do this. I have the pictures in the "My pictures" folder on my desktop. Any help migrating them would be of enormous help.

You need to upload them to a picture hosting site. I use www.photobucket.com

At some point in the future, you'll be able to import images directly onto the photo gallery or individual posts. The scubaboard servers are undergoing some sort of super-overhaul, and the direct image upload feature is turned off or something.

In the meantime, try that photobucket thing that sass is talking about. It works pretty good.
