If I am reading this right... there is a change of planes in Curacao, is this correct? Non stop and I would have jumped on it since non stop increases your chances of arriving with your equipment...

I think you are correct Lee. I believe you take one of the smaller planes over to Bonaire. OK, I just looked it up and here is the flight schedule and prices. I used September 17th - 24th as an example.
Depart Charlotte @ 2:55pm > Curacao @ 7:10. Depart Curacao @ 9:30pm > Bonaire @ 9:55pm.
Depart Bonaire @ 7:55am > Curacao @ 8:20. Depart Curacao @ 9:10am > Charlotte @ 1:25pm.
So you get in a little late going but you get back early coming home. The total cost including fees is $434.60. That's a good price to fly to Bonaire!
