I am on holiday with a buddy who's inon z240 green lamp is always on, what does it mean? Even when the power is off and batteries on (of course) the green lamp is on. The strobe does not fire and he uses a fiber optic cable. All ports/battery compartment are clean and no water entry.

Any help?

Check under the cap where an electrical sync cable goes. I had one strobe that had a short there, everything else was fine.

I did, it look very clean. How did you see a short? 5 prongs, all standing apart.
