Scuba-Quebec:
I want to buy a strobe and I was looking for a Inon D-180, D-180S, Z-220 and Z-220S....Wich one should I choose and why ?

Depends what you think you need now or in the future. I originally got the D180S, although it is a good strobe it was limiting to me because I have really started enjoying wide angle shooting which an 'auto' strobe of this type is not really optimal for. I sold it and got myself a Z220S because it is totally manual and can use TTL sync when I can save up enough to upgrade to a housing which provides this option.

So if you think you will require a TTL sync in the future the Z220 or Z220S are good options.

However there is a new strobe - D2000!
If I was you I would wait the extra few weeks until this comes out and get it. It has 13 manual controls, full auto mode, slave TTL, focus light and is cheaper than the Z series strobes and about the same prices as the D180 (only 4 maunal controls). The only thing you lose is the TTL connection for the future but only worthwhile if you are thinking of upgrading to an expensive camera.

Hope all that helps.
