Hi guys,

I'm new to this forum. I have recently purchased an Inon Z240 strobe for my Canon g12 and Ikelite housing. From what I understood, I could only use the strobe in its manual setting. Unfortunately after connecting the hot shoe to the g12 and the strobe via the Ikelite to Inon sync cord, the only way the strobe will fire is when the camera is in the auto setting. When in manual mode on the camera (and have tried every setting on the strobe) I cannot get the strobe to fire at all. Am I missing something or is this an expensive mistake in my set up? I'll be grateful for any help.

Cheers!
Adam

no - you must use the Z-240 with optical connector (not cable)
or you need a special sync cord. the original sync cord is only for Ikelite strobes.

I have a ikelite housing to inon strobe sync cord. It's only operating the strobe when the camera is in auto mode. So it is working but I don't know if I am missing a setting in the camera manual mode to get it to fire? Thanks for the help!

Problem fixed, turns out I had it set in continuous shot mode instead of single shot mode, oops!
*shakes head*
Cheers anyways!
