I have a g12 camera with the Canon housing and recently purchased an Inon macro wet lens with the adapter. I have compared the macro photos taken with and without the Inon lens and don't see any improvement. When using the Inon lens, I have tried zooming so that there is no vignetting and I have also not zoomed and then cropped the round edges on my computer. I am using the manual settings on the camera. Of course, I purchased the lens so I could get even better macro shots but that's not happening. They seem the same. Am I doing something wrong? Thanks!

Which lens do you have? If it is the Inon UCL165, there should be a dramatic difference in how close you can get to your subject. You mentioned your zooming in as well, which is the right way to get the most advantage from the macro lens.

Take a photo of the dime trying to get as close as possible and still in focus.
Do this twice -

First one with No Wet Lens, Set on Macro zoomed in to 90mm

Second one with the Macro Lens on Zoomed in also to 90mm

You should be able to see the huge difference on how much you can fill the frame with the dime.

If you're not getting results, post the shots you take so we can have a look and maybe help trouble shoot. Also, post with your settings.

Hope this helps
