Everyone that I dive with says "nothing can be substituted for experience". While I know this to be true I still want to get as much "written info" as I can. I figure at the least it may save me from buying something I don't need. Maybe helping me through theory portions of future dive courses I may take.

Anyway, I am a fairly new diver (only 20 dives) but I think I'm in. Here's to exchanging ideas!

I would suggest using the search function on here. Just put in any words you can think of and see what pops up. I would also recommend finding a mentor, maybe someone with 5 or so years of diving under their belt.

Hello Runningdesigner, welcome to Scubaboard! This is a great place to find information concerning all things Scuba. Look around and run searches, you should be able to find lots of great info.

I think murphdivers thought you wanted info on hunting, not hunting for info. LOL

Welcome to the board,

Your thinking is right on target. This board has a lot of different forums. Look through the areas that you have interest in from trips to gear to tec diving whatever you're intested in.

Send someone a private message (PM) if you want some more details or just don't want to share your question with everyone. Gain the knowledge through additional classes, books, people, and the internet. Put that knowledge to work and gain experience in the water and before long you will be the person that folks look to when they have questions.

Try dive training magazine. You can never have too much information. Since my cert. I am constantly reading and researching SCUBA. I subscribe to several magazines and utilize the scubaboard daily...Welcome to the board!!!

Hi Running,

Dont let pressure get to you, there are a lot of books on hunting. Blue Water Hunters is one, there is also video that gives great visuals up setup and technique. There are a few online web sites to order these from. And I agree with dive with someone that has experence first watch and learn. Final suggestion dont over load "task loading" yourself tell you are comfortable with the gun and stringer.

Good Luck
