Sherwood Scuba LLC is sad to announce that we have lost a part of the Sherwood family. On May 22, 2013 Lyndon Travers lost his battle with cancer. While with Sherwood, Lyndon was a key member of the team and oversaw the creative aspects of all three brands Sherwood, Genesis and AKONA. He was instrumental in the startups of Akona Adventure Gear and Genesis Scuba and designed both company logos. He was responsible for the creation the web sites, and oversaw all the print advertising campaigns.
Later, Lyndons talents were also used in the aesthetic designs of many of the three brands products and packaging. His most notable contribution was in the development of the AKONS bag, soft goods lines, and the eye catching Sherwood Scuba DEMA Show booth. As a valued employee for almost 20 years, he achieved the title Creative Director. Lyndon touched many lives within our industry with his creative and witty spirit and will be sorely missed.
In December 1980, Lyndon enlisted in the United States Marine Corp. He was stationed in Albany Georgia as a Graphics Specialist. Most notably he designed the uniform worn in the Desert Storm campaign. He was a Corporal when he was honorably discharged in December of 1983.
Lyndon is survived by his three boys; Lyric (age 11), Lachlan (age 9), and Levi (age 6). They live in California with their mother. Lyndon is also survived by his parents, brothers and sisters.
Lyndons family has started a 529 College Saving Plan for the three boys. They are asking in lieu of flowers being sent to the house that a donation can be made to the Saving Plan.
