Hey people

New to diving but not so new to the marine world :) Currently selling up my marine tank in order to reduce restriction on holidays and going away etc.

My tank now look's nothing like this as i've had to tip it to pieces in order to net up 2 percula clownfish to move on to another tank...

(edit: Can't post URL's until i've put up 5 posts...will drop a pic in general section another time)

Anyway, new hobby new start!

Booking my PADI open water within the week hopefully and then soon after will do my advanced - ideally want to get it cracked before i go to Sharm in April :)

Went to the maldives April this year and snorkelling alone was amazing, but i'm sure the diving would have been more amazing and less restrictive

I've been into sea life since day one and look forward to being part of it all

cheers,

Luke

Ohh and also, i'm looking and becoming a diving instructor eventually...

Aside from a lot of diving qualifications/experience...is there anything else that is required for such a career? (i appreciate this won't be happening within a year)

thanks,

Luke

Hey welcome to the board, I'm a new member myself, but not a new diver!

I'm not an instructor, but I've spent lots of time helping with classes and working in the diving environment (I'm a divemaster). Instructors definitely need top notch skills and LOTS of dive experience, but you can't even start an instructor course without those. If you want be an instructor as a career, you need to have patience and good people skills. Those traits are just as important as the dive skills in my book.

Happy diving!
