I have an external ys110a and the refresh time on the strobe is FAR faster than the camera's own refresh/internal flash. Does anyone know if there is a way to get it to fire faster? I'm guessing the answer is manual mode and minimal built in flash, but just in case I am missing something...

How about chdk? Anything in that firmware that could be used?

If your shooting Manual - set the strobe power to the lowest setting. It will save battery power as well as faster recycling. The camera strobe just needs to trigger the external strobe. It does not control the amount of power the external strobe will put out.

This will only work on Manual

In Manual, Av or Tv modes you can set your camera strobe to Manual and lowest power, this will speed things up and reduce battery consumption considerably.
