Should I? Its either this, or the $7,000 from seacam or ikelite or something like that or buy a 20D + housing for about 2,300$. I know the housings are more expensive for a reason. But the one I linked is rated to 150 feet and I dont go beyond 100 feet anyways.

these bags are rated for that depth and even if the camera made it down to that you wouldnt be able to use any of the buttons as the pressure would be crushing all of the buttons at once. plus i have seen to many of those fail in a swimming pool and it wasnt fun watching someone get ticked off at them self for drowning a camera in a "expensive ziplock bag" as on put it when he lost his song camcorder when a seem failed.

then also why would you put a 3K camera in a modified Ziploc bag.

me personally i would do a housing for the camera (subdal is my choice, because the 1D II and the 1Ds II can fit in the same housing as well as the older versions of each camera).

thats just my opinon

no no no no Repeat after me, "No Ewa Marine Bag!"

If you are going to house a dslr, then house it. Go Ikelite, Subal etc.

If you don't want to go the dslr route, then invest in a compact camera with housing. There are a ton of choices out there and a bit of research will help you find one that will suit you the best for your uw photo goals.

Yah it makes sense after a good night's sleep. The alternative would not be $4,000 more for no reason.
For no reason??? I love my cameras (canon 10d and 20d) and housings(Ikelight 10d and 20d housings) and twin ds-125 strobes Money is no object... My next new toy will be the 5d and housing sometime next month...Happy shooting
