I'm going back to Bonaire June 5. Any recommendations or recent good dive reports?

I think it's been a little extra windy from reading peoples reports over the last several weeks. Seems like some of the southern sites have been hit or miss.

I was there recently and while there was quite a bit of wind, the diving was not significantly affected. Red Slave in the extreme south had poor visibility but other sites were fine. I had an excellent night dive at Invisibles without any problems (except that the VIP Diving truck was nearly emptied of petrol).

(Hintermann, we need a trip report.)
Sure. I only got back 4 days ago and as usual, there was (and still is) a ton of domestic and professional back-up to sort out. I have not even had a chance to unpack properly or fully download the photos (did not take my laptop). Gimme a few days.

Also, I was in Socorro the week previouis to Bonaire and so it is only right that I do that report first.

Back to OP.

I've never had a bad dive at Bari Reef, Something Special or Salt Pier; day or night.
I like some of the less expensive local restaurants on the island Like Rumba Grill, Mi Banana, Bobbe Jans

Have a good trip.

We did a night dive tonight and saw the bioluminescent ostracods. These occur 5 days after the full moon, so we're hoping that they will still be active tomorrow night as we have friends arriving tonight and would love to do the dive with them.

7-12 days after a full moon is when you might see Box Jellys that have a potent sting. Cover up, wear a hood; and watch entering and exiting shore dives mostly at night but they may be seen daytime too. You can use your octo to blow bubbles upward to clear any seen from your exit. They can get bad at an exit ladder that is lighted for example and they congregate due to the light. Buddy's can be bad as well as Habitat. An encounter may require a hospital visit.

There are 2 kinds I think. Bonaire Banded Box Jelly and Sea Wasp. So cover up, look, and dive!
