Does anyone know where to find a list of Divable Locations around the Chicagoland area besides Lake Mi.? I know about Haigh, Pearl Lake and the lake in Crystal Lake, but I was wondering if anyone had any other places that aren't as advertised? And what are the laws pertaining to diving in a local lake. Is it basically just get permission?

Many local lakes and quarry’s etc, post no diving. However I can assure you they nearly all have been a dive spot in the recent past. Most go from 15’ to 50’ with poor visibility. If you get permission your all good.

I don’t know of a list, but can add a few to yours. (not sure if you are limited to just day trips or not)
I know folks that dive Lake Geneva in WI, I don’t have more details.
Kickapoo State Park allows it. No idea whether or not it is worth it.
Activities
Devils Lake State Park, WI
Mermet Springs, southern Illinois
Bonne Terre Mine, near St. Louis

I will second Mermet Springs. Fun dive spot.
