I recently sent a Single Digital Sync Cord back for replacement. Ikelite replaced the cord for $50 which i thought was excellent. When the the cord arrived about 10 days later I found that it was sent DHL Express costing $56!

I realise that shipping to Australia is exepnsive but $56 for one single sync cord is a little over the top.

I emailed the ikelite service centre and they stated that All deliveries to Australia are via DHL unless you tell them prior. Unfortunately I did no know that I had to inform Ikelite that I wanted to be charged a decent amount like the $15 it cost me to send the faulty sync cord in the first place.

Suggest that Ikelite make aware that there are other options (like USPS) available especially for small items.

Regards Mark

I agree that's expensive. That's what DHL costs though. I don't think they are gouging -- they chose DHL for reliable delivery.

You can request they send it USPS Priority Mail Flat Rate envelope. That's much cheaper and still has tracking ( I think it's about US$16). For small items like a cord, it's perfect.

First Class is cheaper still, about US$3, but no tracking. I send stuff that way abroad, but not items valued over say $25. I have not had losses, but I am taking a known risk.

Sorry to hear about that. We do charge only the billed rate for shipping services, which is discounted from their standard book rates.

I've confirmed that the shipping & repair departments know to keep an eye out for unusually high freight charges on relatively low-cost equipment being returned after service...
