Was in the market for a strobe for my Canon AS1100 point & shoot. After research started shopping and found a great deal on a Sea&Sea YS-110 strobe with the Sea Arm VII arm and tray, in a package. I was told it would match up to my Ikelite housing, but when I received it I discovered the tray had a single screw attachment, the Ikelite housing had a double screw attachment with different size attachment points. Having bought both at the same place, I "assumed" they would check to make sure they matched up as claimed. Rather than send it back I went to Ace Hardware and found the screws to fit the housing, then went to a local maching shop that built aluminum trailers. They took a piece of of aluminum stock and drilled it through, and counter sunk for the screws to the housing, then drilled and tapped the center for the single point attachment screw on the tray. Works great, and because the owner used the time training a younger employee, only charged me $10.00. I gave him $20.00!

Great stuff Capn. I use a local stainless steel fabricator to make up baseplate etc I need and it works well. The bits he makes are stronger and made for my camera and not a generic product. I don't but if you knew what weight you wanted I am sure he would make it the right weight to have it slightly negative.

He has so far saved me a couple of hundred dollars. Along with making my own optical cable kits I have saved a fair bit.
