Ikelite housing numbers

I was interested in how different ikelite housings are numbered. Specifically, I have a Canon elan 7 (Ikelite 6777.7) and I have seen several good prices for Elan II housings (Ikelite 6777). My basic question is if the Elan 7 will fit inside an Elan II housing. I'm not opposed to modifying controls to get the basic funtions, but I'm most concerned if the acrylic parts are the same size.

you would probably have to e-mail ikelite about that, even though they will probably tell you the controls wont work, and that you should buy the right one.
