I am getting a Nikon Coolpix 4300 for Christmas. I want to get an Ikelite housing for it, but which strobe should I get? Would I be better off with the DS125 or is the DS50 adequate? Thanks for any comments or suggestions!

The DS-50 is adequate with the manual controller, but the DS-125 would upgrade to a DSLR, etc. better in the future....the DS-125 has 4 intrinsic power levels and would not necessarily need the manual controller, but I would still recommend it
For one strobe, I would recommend the DS-125.....I'm not familiar with the 4300, so I would verify this with Ikelite

I use a Sea&Sea YS50 / Mathias' TTL adapter.
Full auto - no manual setting.
