Hi ScubaBoard,

I been having some problems triggering my Ikelite DS 51 to fire.
I have a Nikon D70S in a Sea and Sea DxD70 housing connected with a ikelite #4104.6 cord
Is the some special mode i need to be in on the camera?
i use to just have 2 flash lights on the housing so this is my first experiences with a strobe

So i guss i have to sell the ikelite strobe to get some sea and sea brand YS series strobe.
i was thinking either a YS-90DX or YS-27DX or YS-120 or YS-60? any experiences with these strobes? or any better ones?
i also want to run two strobes so ill need a dual sync cord. any suggestions?

I would suggest checking with Ikelite directly or your local Ike dealer. if you bought the strobes new, the seller should provide the information you are asking. if not, Ike should be able to help.

A YS27DX is small and light. If doing marco it can be enough. Too little light for wide angle, even with two, in my opinion. not used the other strobes.

I stick with fiber optic triggered strobes. Its simple and not housing specific.
But perhaps that does not fit your needs or equipment.

EricPhotography92,

The Ikelite DS51 units are plenty for WA photography. Beam angle of 79 degrees with the diffuser that only costs maybe 1/2 f-stop of light.

I've used them in pairs many times (see below) and while daylight balanced (5700K compared to Ikelite DS125 / 160 / 161 color temp of 4800K) as long as you don't try and shoot farther away than 5' they work fine.

Eric, check your PM........
