Thanx for any help.

The question is "what do you want to do in a few years?"

If you think you might want to go to a more capable system like a DSLR, then get the Ike strobe. If you want to stay with the digitals point & shoot, then the Nikon system might be better.

I just got the DS-160, which is replacing the 125, as I will most likely will move up. I got the ev controler so that I can use it with my point & shoot and I also got the Nikonos cable so that it will work with my film Nike V.

I think you are talking about the Nikon L18 package. I was intrigued by it as well. I went to Bestbuy to check out the L18 and what a piece of junk it is. Takes poor pictures, takes for ever to get ready for the next picture with the flash off. Nikon needs to get rid of the L series and stick with the P series.

Agree. I've got a Nikon P5100, Ike housing and Strobe. Great combination for a P&S. P5100 gives you full manual control plus TTL if you want to use it. (I don't). The only downside is no RAW.

Nikon just released the P6000. so the 5100s are coming down in price. Don't know yet if the P5100 Ike housing will fit the P6000. I spoke with Ikelite a couple weeks ago and they had just gotten their first P6000 and were still testing.

BTW the P6000 has RAW capability, but it may be a Nikon version of standard RAW format. I've read a little about it, but don't fully understand it yet.
