Simple question to everyone.

If you are in agony, are you diving or not?

If you are in a hell of life, are you diving or not?

I mean, mentally if you are totally depressed, to dive isn't a good idea?

I've seen alot of people that are depressing(looking) that dive.....lol.....

A simple question that IMO dont hold a simple answer..
While being preoccupied might cause you to be less aware of your diving, the diving might also be theraputic and give you a break from the everyday stress, so who knows?

Guess it depends. Will diving help you? When I get stressed I take my sportbike out, when I am really stressed I take the bike to a track. I forget all my problems and just enjoy the ride. It gives my brain something else to do for a while. I haven't tried diving as a way of dealing with stress, only because I am not certified.

if depressed, i think most people won't tend to see others, will rather stay home!

I found that I have any issues or problems that really bother me or make me feel rather down, a simple dive is all it takes to make it go away, so it kinda helps actually.

By a simple dive I mean just go and hang out with the fishes, shoot a couple of photos and such, not dive the Doria.

Hue~~~~~~~~

If your heart almost broke and it makes your heart ache,,,,,,,,,,

Even for a solo diving.....?

The water is the first place I would want to go for comfort.

Even more so, but avoid stupid stunts. In that specific scenario I found diving to have a healing effect. :)

If you're referring to a proper heart attack though, which I don't think it's the case here, I think that you can discard my opinion and go with a physicians.

There's many levels of depression... some are more stress related than others I think, eg. my job sucks... some are situational and you know it, eg. my job sucks... it's different for everyone.

If you think you are truly a danger to others and/or yourself, don't go diving. However, even if you are bit distracted and can manage the dive even needing to go back to "Beer with ribs and fries" days... so be it... DIVE!

Diving is one of those things you cannot explain to others. The mamallian reflex, the soothing of the water... the sights, everything... it's something that no matter what is there for you... very much like surfing... zen like even.

Topside, if you go with a group or dive buddy, I've had some of the best conversations about life and the curve-balls it throws at you with people I dive with... the life experiences among divers is very diverse and varied... you'd be surprised at how many in a small group will have gone through the same experience as you... think of it as group therapy only wetter...

And no matter what, remember that this too shall pass, time heals all wounds, that which does not kill you makes you stronger... all cliches but true none-the-less.
