had a great dive yesterday. took my MX5. with the fixed flash, i was very worried about backscatter so resorted to covering it with my left index finger.

got the film processed this morning and scanned to a CD. and what did i find ??? what could've been my best photo ;-0.

oh well.

not sure what these are but abundant near a trawler wreck.

Hello,

Our friends in #reefs on Xnet states that it's possibly a colonial tunicates. The fish is Annularis Angel, Pomacanthus annularis.

BTW are you using a strobe of some form?

link to sea and sea http://www.seaandsea.com/ - look under Product Line then MX5 II. though i don't have the MX5 II it looks similar but with no ttachment points for the strobe.

by the way, knowing there's gunk in the water, i took two photos, one with flash, the other with the flash covered with my index finger.

and thanks for the input on the blue stuff.
