(FYI - the "South Jack Wreck" is a popular wreck resting in 65 feet of water off the mouth of Tampa Bay)

The Association of Underwater Explorers (AUE) has tentatively identified the "South Jack Wreck" as the luxury yacht NOHAB, formerly Kaiser Wilhelm's LENSAHN, which was built in Germany in 1901. The 143-foot long Lensahn hosted world leaders and other dignitaries including the Czar of Russia, King George of England, and President Theodore Roosevelt.

Information on the identification can be found in the following announcement:

More information on this historical identification will be posted on the AUE website in the near future...

Cheers,
Mike

If anyone is interested, I think there may be a trip out to the NOHAB on Sunday, March 2. Second dive is likely the 10 Fathom Wreck, an unidentified wreck in approximately 60 feet of water.

Wow Mike thanks :) I'll have to show this to Frogman_5. This is already one of my favorite wrecks but I think it just moved up a little in my book.

Walter would you like for me to hold you :pftroest: You know, spring is nearing and they love to hang-around there about that time  SpearGirl just imagine this lil smiley guy as Walter - that is the story in a nutshell :sharkattack:

Mike who is the trip out with?
