Hey,

I'm looking to organise a small group (c10-12) trip to SE Asia in November. I've been fortunate enough to dive some very good places in SE Asia (Sipadan - Malaysia; Coron, Apo Reef, Apo Island, Bohol - Philippines; Similan & Surin Is - Thailand; Bali, Komodo, Bunaken, Raja Ampat - Indonesia), indeed some of the more obvious ones to go to with a group.

Do you have any recommendations of new spots for a group in November? Ideally, they would be land-based, but a liveaboard/land combination could work. We would be looking at about 7 days of diving, suitable for Advanced Open Water divers. And, ideally, not too many connecting flights.

Thanks in advance for your advice, it's a tricky one.

Greetings from Indonesia MW_Lion,

What about Bangka and/or Lembeh? Murex Bangka Dive Resorts and Lembeh Resort have a package where you can do both properties and have a dive transfer in between.

Murex Bangka offers rustic cottages on a beautiful white sand beach and has amazing diving - hard corals, soft corals, critters and diverse sites such as pinnacles, walls and muck. While 5* Lembeh Dive Resort & Spa is ideally situated in world famous Lembeh Strait. You could easily do 1 or both on a 7 day itinerary.

You can fly into Manado directly from Singapore via Silk Air, which has an added bonus of international luggage allowances.

Wherever your travels take you have a wonderful dive holiday.

Cheers,

Hi there MW_Lion!

As Adelaar Cruises says, Lembeh or Bangka are great choices during November. You could also look into Malapascua in the Philippines or even Palawan.

If you’re willing to venture a little bit out of SE Asia, you could also look into the Maldives. The South Ari Atoll is great for land based diving and liveaboards.

Sri Lanka is also an interesting choice during that time of year. The Sri Lanka Aggressor is set for its maiden voyage this fall, or you could base yourself in Unawatuna for whale watching and diving. Colombo is also great for wrecks.

Finally, the Andaman Islands offer great diving at an affordable price. They are just more difficult to reach.

If you have any questions, just let us know. As always, happy diving!
