Well I finally got to take my suit for a trial run. It did a 70" dive for 35 min all around a sunken car and pilings. Ok so it wasn't a great dive site but I wanted to see how it would do and I must say I am very happy. This suit http://divemar.com/Divemar/docs/typhoon.html is so nice to be in the water with and it keeps me dry and for $665 how can one beat this suit. But my buddy I went with got a tear in his drysuit seal so this time it was him that was wet lol. The biggest pro to me was that the boots are really Comfortable with the neoprene linning and the self entry with the longer zipper is easy. The only con I have is with the dump valve. It seems like I need to push it harder to get it to start dumping and not sure if its because its new or what. So all in all this is a d a m n good suit so far.

What was the water temp? What did you wear under the suit?
That's a great price. Where did you buy it?

Temp was about 48 F in seattle area. I was in a USIA exo therm 2 under it. I got it at http://www.divers-supply.com they have it for like $850 but went down to $650 when I asked I said we are in a recession. My LDS had it for 1299 so it was a steal from these guys at $650 and $15 buck shipped to my door step.

Divers-supply often sell these suits on ebay for a really great price. Ask scubaroo about his he purchased from them on ebay.

Are you going try to break 6 feet next time? :D

Maybe that was 70 seconds, not inches. No need for
a tank that way. Of course, not quite long enough
to really evaulate undies. Oops, I see that
he specified a depth!

Looks like a good deal on a reasonable suit. I ended
up getting my suit, used 2 times but ~8 years old, via
ebay. By the time I changed out a valve (manual to
auto) and bought Roc boots, I paid almost as much.

Too bad I just picked up a new drysuit a few weeks ago...

Ming, did your suit come with a si-tech valve? My typhoon did, I usually just dive with the valve wide open and then just tilt or raise my elbow to get the air to the valve to vent. Ya those si-techs vent slower than I thought they would, but from what I hear most exhaust valves vent slow (slower than one would initially think they should).

I added gators and just did away witht he ankle weights, much better. I had a problem riding the scooter with ankle weights and the addition of gators and deletion of ankle weights is the hot ticket.

Good luck with your new suit.

It does have the si_tech valves. This is my 3rd drysuit and it is the slowest valve.
