It's a government conspiracy to hide the fact that aliens are targeting water supplies by blaming the circles on divers.

I can't get over how meticulous the pattern was laid out. We usually end up with "walk out there a bit and make a circle". That always translates into a wonkly oblong shaped thing.
wow - should there be a hyphen in "anal retentive"? - I'm impressed.... that is quite "by the book"... regrettably, I'd likely do it with the same gusto...
