I just don't log dives
I live a few minutes away from the water in sunny South Florida:palmtree: and dive a Dive Rite Optima Rebreather, both recreationally:snorkel2: and technically.:scubadive: I also do a fair amount of underwater photography.:uwphotographer: However, I went on a livaboard trip in September to the Bahamas, and upon my return, I have only gone diving once.:shakehead:

Prior to the Bahamas trip, I was practically diving every weekend, and sometimes twice on weekends, so this is definitely a drastic change for me! Granted, I've been a bit busy with the traditional holiday shopping and other issues:christmastree::santa3:, but nothing that should legitimately keep me from diving.

Consequently, I think if I hear some interesting dive related stories or even rebreather related diving stuff, it might serve as the driving force to kick start me back on the horse and out there diving and snapping pictures again!

Anyone out there got any cool:cool3: or interesting stories about the diving they've been doing lately, or any other motivational chat?:help::sos:

Adrian:popcorn:

I will not give you a story...

But I will give you a motivational chat...

Here it is.

Go to that space where the Optima is
Then go through the check list
Ensure everything is working
Ring your buddy, discuss time and place

AND GET THE F@$#%$%^&&*&**K OUT THERE NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!

AND while you are at it.

Tell us about SCRUBS, I belive you are a member. :lotsalove:

He won't be a member much longer if he doesn't get off his butt and come diving with us very very soon.

By the way Adrian, When are you going to bring that Dsix backplate over to get it fixed?

Don't feel bad Adrian, you're not the only one that hasn't been in the water much lately. I think part of it has to do with the fact the weather hasn't cooperated in the last couple of months. Seems as though every time I've planned on getting wet the winds kick up and the seas are 4 to 6. I finally made it out last weekend, it was great to get wet again, and it was actually cool enough to wear the drysuit and not be over dressed.

Lets see if we can put a trip together. Don't forget the Vandenberg is supposed to sunk early next year.

I will paraphrase a couple of my parents motivational tips for you.
1. "Your Butt is going to need some motivation Mister"!
2. "I'll give you something to cry about if you don't get in the water in a bout 10 seconds and 8 have been used up"!

I too had been spoiled on a live aboard. Makes it seem like no work to go diving. No deposit no return. Also I could not take baby with me and hell their nitrox was never quite up to snuff. You will return to the sea, however today its football for me! Then Florida on Tuesday for a couple of days at the theme parks and the Queen Mary 2 for a cruise. Diving every port but on open circuit. Sure it will be boring but at least I will be wet! For me bad diving with cruise ship people on OC is better than not getting wet at all.

I think the motivational comments from everyone helped, as I'm ready to hit the water again!! I just have to reassemble my Optima and lube up the camera and I'm good to go.;)

I didn't go diving this weekeng, but that was only because the weather was not very pleasant:depressed:, but I did manage to make it over to Don's house (That's Dsix36's house, for those non Optima divers!) yesterday, and he fixed my custom aluminum DSix36 Backplate for me.

Also, I picked up a few great diving related Christmas gifts:D, including a wetsuit heater to protect me from the freezing South Florida waters!!:rofl3:

So if all goes well, I should be back in the water this weekend, weather permitting of course!

Thanks again everyone!!:lotsalove:

Where and when? I need to get wet one more time before I send the head back to ISC for the software upgrade.

I've spent the last couple of months diving springs (with CCR students) and north Florida caves as, like Scott mentioned above, it seems like every time I've got a south Florida charter set up it gets blown out. Hopefully 2009 will get off to a better start!
