I flooded my G12 Sunday before my first dive of the week. I changed my routine on equipment set up and forgot to put the O ring in the housing.

Fortunately it was in a clean, fresh water rinse tank and I caught it quickly. I let the camera and housing air out for half the day and was up and running by the third dive.

The lesson here is don't change your routine once it is established and proven.

Sorry to hear that. Hopefully, you won't have any trouble in the future. I flooded an Olympus C5060 years ago because I got the O ring twisted. Since then I have created for every new camera and housing a 4 page written protocol which walks me through everything one step at a time. I never do anything without that protocol (which is on two double side laminated sheets) in front of me and I follow it to the letter. So far so good as I have not flooded a camera in 6 years. The additional bonus, I have not jumped in the water without a flash raised, with a lens cap on, with a lens locked or with the camera's screen flipped to the closed position.
