I Hate Hoods

I need to buy myself a hood because my jacket w/hood no longer fits. However, I hate hoods because I have fat cheeks and a little face and I always feel like I'm being swallowed by my hood or else like a seal i.e no neck. I know hoods are supposed to keep your head and face warm and I appreciate this in New England but I'd like to find a hood that covers less of my chin and cheeks. Any suggestions on models or brands?

buy a hood that can be trimmed for your face, i know seasoft has one..

You can trim most hoods around the face and also try one with a zipper up the back. Sometimes they fit a little larger than one without.

Get a custom hood made. DUI and DC both do them, not sure on other brands.

The Bare drysuit hood my be ideal if you dont need the bib. I use it for my wet suit diving in the summer.

For the summer, at least, you could try a beanie like this..

It works even better if you do as Mike suggests, and move to the tropics.

i plainly abhore them. i feel constricted with them. also i dont see the need in warm tropical waters
