Well, sort of.

I actually DOVE with OE2X. I rode on the boat with UP, and watched him get into the water, and saw him underwater for a little bit at the end of the first dive.

Bob and I, with OE and UP and their friend Shane, went out on OE's boat from a dock north of Seattle (I'm posting this in the Basic Scuba because it's about the people, not the site.) We had a wonderful day in the sunshine, looking at the gorgeous views, and enjoying pretty decent PNW visibility. The boat was positively decadent, with enough space for EVERYBODY to put their feet, and a ladder to reboard -- Yay!

Anyway, I've wanted to dive with these folks for a long time, been invited several times, but today it happened.

Yes, that's the same boat. The weird framework behind the helm gives it a sci-fi appearance, and I never did figure out what that's for. But the boat is really comfortable, and goes like the proverbial bat out of you-know-where, and has tons of room for all the gear. And I appreciated a ladder, after trying to kick myself into Richard's boat (which is a 12 foot version of the same thing) on Saturday.

These were delightful people, including Shane, who I'd never met before, who is a very warm and helpful guy. There was a lot of laughter on the boat, and before and after, and during, because I think swimming scallops are hysterical.

Did I mention we saw dolphins during surface interval? It was a truly splendid day.

So you are humming the theme tune of 'Bonanza' :) ?

ha ha ha ... if only i'd had my camera handy last weekend misy!

Lynne---you're killing me!! Envious to the max!! Some day, I keep telling myself, some day it will happen.

Limeyx, I've written to a number of people saying I'm very grateful that you were laughing too hard to videotape my unique entry and exit strategies off Richard's boat -- it would make such good blackmail material!

I'm admittedly a little jealous. From the stories I've heard, that is a solid crew to dive with.

I also think that picture of them in the boat is pretty cool . . . very cowboy.
