Some of you may remember my saga of a cancelled trip, ear problems, a cold front in Florida, and other annoyances that kept getting in the way of my getting some dives in after recent OW certification.

Well, I FINALLY broke the curse!!!

I got in 5 excellent dives this weekend in Cozumel, including a beautiful night dive, and an absolutely surreal dive at the collapsed Carnival pier! I had ZERO problems, and had a great time!

I still need to work quite a bit on getting control of my bouyancy, but it was never an issue until the end of the dives.

I have plans to go back to Cozumel in late November or early December to meet the friends I cancelled on because of Wilma last year, but hopefully I'll get in some more dives before then, too!

Oh, and I broke into double digits too!LOL! I have 10 officially under my belt now:D

Lisa,

Don't sweat the bouyancy thing......you WILL get it, just about everyone does. Aluminum tanks have large bouyancy swings between full and empty compared to steel.

Oh, and if you're single, considering about 80-90% of the divers will be guys, you'll feel like a kid in a candy store. ;)

Just have fun while being safe, it will all come to you. How many people get to play Jaques Cousteu? This hobby rocks!

Congrtulations and good job. Way to perervere and keep at it. With this kind of dedication I'm sure you will be breaking the 100 mark in the near future.

Lisa,

Nice, congrats!

Going to Cancun at the end of the month and was going to take the boat over to Coz for a day or two. Any recommendations on where to diveand a good charter to go with?

Thanks,
AIC

Congrats Lisa, it always feels good when the dives go well. Just work on the buoyancy and things will get even better.

Hi Lisa,
Good to hear you finally got some great diving in:D

And congrats on dive # 10 , only 90 more, then ya gotta dive nekkid :)

p.s. All diving is 'good' diving if everybody makes it back, even the swamp diving we Texans endure between blue water trips. Coz' always rates a 'very good' at very minimum, at least for me;)
