Got back from Jamaica last night, should be back on schedule for local diving next weekend hopefully. Is the visibility manageable at Lanier? I seem to recall it doesn't start improving again until around November but correct me if I'm wrong.
Jamaica isn't really much of a dive vacation place. Reefs are unhealthy and sparsely populated. Minimal gorgonians. Lots of brown and green algae. its obvious the jamaicans need vastly better sewage treatment. that said, wife did the resort course. did all the skills in the pool. dida back roll entry into 15' of water on the reef but didn't descend due to water in mask and freaking out! nevertheless now she says she wants to get certified.
