Don't get her started on the wrong foot. Those tourist magazines just aren't going to do her any good. IMO, it's important to get them started the right direction from the beginning. I recommend the following reading list for new and budding divers as soon as possible before it's too late!

"The Darkness Beckons"
"Caverns Measureless to Man" Not before bed
"The Art of Safe Cave Diving" Great chapter on trim
"A Blue Print For Survival"
"O2 Hackers Companion" I wouldn't actually let her blend yet.
"Technical Diving in Depth" Lots of math so don't push

You could throw in the DIRF book if you want just to help her get a well rounded education.

If she gets through these let me know and I'll toss you a few more titles.
