Hello all - I am working on a website for a vacation rental-by-owner of some friends of mine, in Huatulco, Oaxaca.

I have never been there. The focus seems to be on fishing, but the internet says there are 13 dive sites and some stuff to look at. Has anyone been there? Can you describe the diving? More importantly, do you know any good dive ops that I can link in on the site?

Thanks much.....

i was there but many many years ago before the resort opened. There was a nice shallow reef off to where club med later was consturcted. That was blown apart for the marina. Down by puerto anglel there was some diving as well. Nothing to write home about and I honestly don't remember anything helpfull about that. I do remember once the resort was built there were some dive shops but again talking many years ago.

I've a friend of mine visit, but not dive and yes, it's a very nice place. I was actually planning to head there this winter, but couldn't find a package that would fit in my timetable. When I did some research on diving for my failed trip, I found Hurricane Divers. Really the only place I found, never tried it, but looked promising.

Cavewoman,

Did you ever learn anything about diving there? I am planning a trip to Mexico, and would really be able to keep the costs down if I didn't have to travel all the way from Oaxaca over to Cozumel to dive.

I also had a look at Hurricane Divers website.

Hey Cavew0man,

Sorry I didn't see your post earlier. DH and I own a home in Huatulco. There are a number of dive ops. in Huatulco but the best by far is Hurricane Divers. I trust Roberto enough that I've sent my teenager out with him unaccompanied by a parent. The equipment is good and they have English-speaking staff. For more info. on Huatulco, visit Huatulco. Scroll down for scuba listings. The site has a great deal of info. on Huatulco and the surrounding area. Check out the visitors' comments but ignore the trolls.

The diving in Huatulco is good, not great. See the Hurricane Divers site for more info. on specific sites.
