Hey there,
A little about myself - I was lucky enough to grow up snorkeling and boating during the summers in New England. I think
that has developed a feeling of comfort in and around the ocean, as well as a respect (it can kill you) and appreciation for it. In 94 I passed the PADI classes and pool dives but never got around to my OW dives. Thereafter I moved further inland and got wrapped up in work. Eventually i moved back to the coast and got my Scuba and Advanced Scuba cert through
NAUI in 2006.
Two of my favorite dives were night dives - the first was a shore dive off Back beach in Rockport and second was on the
stern half of Chester Polling. There been alot of great day dives to though.
I'm here to learn more about how to be a safer diver better buudy and refine my 'art'. I've read some of the DIR stuff and I am in accord with some of the philosophies as far as I understand them. i like practicing drills and the ideas behind
equipment choice. i just got a BP/w and am coming from a jacket. I was happy with my bcd and AIr2 but liked the idea of tthe BP/W's efficient trim, modularity (flexibility in configuration), and greater mobility. On the other hand I will be keeping my AIR2 but getting a longer hose for my primary. I am also about to try diving with a wireless AI computer.
Don't know that I will ever be a tech diver but I find the science of it in regards to physiology, gasses,
and pressure fascinating.
Cheers,
