Just wanted to introduce myself on here. I am not currently certified but have my class scheduled for the first two weeks in March. Looking forward to diving in some local lakes around North Texas and then going to St. Maaten in the summer for a family vacation and some dives while on the island.

Looking forwarded to learning from the people on this forum as I go forward with this great sport.

Well Gman your welcome to join me and the rest of the group in March when we go to Athens Texas for some great diving! if you would like to meet some of the guys come over to Oklahoma Aquanauts (Tulsa, OK) - Meetup its free to join and with members in Texas, Oklahoma, Kansas, Arkansas and Missouri you are bound to always find someone going for a dive :)

Welcome fellow Texan.

If you don't mind my asking, where are you taking your class? Island Divers, perhaps? :)

Make sure you visit the Texas Swamp Diver's section in the regional forums when you get a chance. Link below:

Howdy and welcome. Enjoy your training and once your done try to dive as much as possible. Your plan to get your certification completed and build some skills prior to your trip is a good one. You're in for a great time.
